Experimental Photography
What does Experimental photography mean?
This term relates to modernising traditional techniques or using apps/techniques to enhance original photos.

The three experiments i will use are:
.Poking holes through with light poking through them
.Scratching/Ripping
.Merging two together through photoshop

How can i apply this to my photography? What ways?
Burning-get a needle and poke holes through them neatly
Merging together-On photoshop of two organic objects
Scratching/Ripping-think about where i should scratch/rip

Light-A example of a photographer who does light is Amy Friend
Scratching/Ripping-A example of a photographer who does ripping/scratching unknown
Merging photos-A example of a photographer who does this is Adam Goldberg

My Photo's Merged Together

I used Photoshop to merge two pictures together, which in my eyes is quite effective as you can see the bright red stem in the centre of the photo, with the petals gently blending into the background. To improve it I could have changed the colour of the petals to a different colour which is less visible so it could merge even better into the photo. The mood of this photograph is quite warming, even though green is quite a jealous feeling, there'd gives you a more of a loving and kind feeling.

I used merging on Photoshop as I love the red plant glowing and if it merged with a different photo I thought it had the potential to be even better, and it did as the petals work really well with the green background so I think that merging the two photos was the right and successful choice. To improve it I could have probably changed the green tips on the red plant to red so they matched. Like the photo before, green shows jealousy but the red shows love and passion.

I love the merging of this photo as you can seethe pink stem but the other (yellow) stem merging through is at the centre of the pink stem, it makes the photo very confusing but interesting so I think that the photograph was extremely successful and very effective. To improve the photo I could have changed the blue petal to white or pink to make them fit in more with the photograph. The feeling is warm and loving however the blue shows sadness and crying.
My Photo's with scratches

I used scratching where the different textures would be, the technique I used was successful as it adds to the pictures speciality. I could have improved the picture by using a smaller needle to make the scratches smaller. The feeling the photograph gives you is dark and light, dark-being the shades and the dark parts of the log, light-being the light scratches over the log and the golden colours on the log.
My Photo's with light poking through the holes

This photo has been poked through with needles to create the holes so I could shine the light through the photo. It was successful as it makes the photo stand out more as the light brings attention to the photo so that is why I believe it is effective. To improve it and give it a better finish, i could have taken more time making the holes. The feeling of the photograph is that it is warm, red for warm.
